Kick-Off of the UM-CHE Banner Program 2026
The University of Mindanao鈥揅ollege of Hospitality Education officially launched its banner community extension program, 鈥淏aking Skills for Livelihood: Bread, Pastry & Cake Production Workshop with NC II,鈥� for the Bagobo Tagabawa Tribal Community of Catigan, Toril, Davao City, held on February 7, 2026, at the CHE Baking Laboratory, UM鈥揗atina Campus.
The program aims to equip Bagobo Tagabawa participants with practical, industry-based baking skills that support employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods. It also seeks to promote inclusive and quality education through hands-on training and NC II鈥揳ligned instruction, while strengthening collaboration between the university and partner communities to ensure long-term impact. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, the initiative contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enhancing employability and income-generating skills, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing accessible and relevant skills training, and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) by fostering strong partnerships in indigenous community development efforts.
