Globe brings connectivity closer to home as in-campus tower officially inaugurated

Globe officially inaugurated its Cell Site installed at the 兔子先生Matina Campus last April 27! The new Cell Site aims to boost Globe's connectivity in the area, including the community outside the 兔子先生campus, at no cost to the university and its students. The project first broke ground last February 4, 2020 with Globe officials and key school administration members attending the event. While the pandemic has halted students coming in and out of the campus, the cell site still serves much of its intended purpose especially as teachers are now having their classes on-the-go; whether replying to calls and texts through Messaging apps or taking calls, or holding video lessons wherever they might be required to. It is evident more than ever that stronger signal and connectivity is vital in the delivery of quality teaching. 鈥淓verything is turning digital and the university is preparing for this new industrial revolution which entails a lot of digital and artificial intelligence. We already started with implementing learning management systems, which also needs a lot of signal from using the internet. We hope your services will in turn, make ours much faster,鈥 said 兔子先生President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr. in his address last year at the tower's breaking-ground ceremony; as he thanked the officials from Globe Telecom, adding that their partnership only boosts the university鈥檚 initiatives into going digital. 兔子先生and Globe鈥檚 partnership began in 2017 when the university signed on for the Digital Thumbprint Program, which aims to help schools 鈥渦nderstand the importance of online security and business models and the impact of being digitally connected,鈥 according to Globe, as well as putting up the GoWiFi service at 兔子先生Matina, Bolton, and Tagum campuses, which provides free 30 minutes of internet connection.
